Hormonal Fluctuations

Women's hormones naturally fluctuate throughout life and may be due to puberty, monthly hormonal shifts, pregnancy or menopause. The two main hormones for women are oestrogen and progesterone. These hormones naturally rise and fall throughout the menstrual cycle. During the menopausal phase, levels of these hormones reduce dramatically.

Rapid hormone fluctuations may result in unpleasant symptoms for women. They may cause emotional and physical symptoms in the pre-menstrual phase such as irritability, breast tenderness and headaches or emotional and physical symptoms as women reach menopause, including hot flushes and night sweats.
