Body Odour

Body odour (BO) refers to the unpleasant smells that most commonly come from the armpit area, but also occurs in other areas, including the feet. The odours have been described as pungent, rancid, musty, or sour in character. Body odour generally occurs because of the combination of the sweat and oil produced by glands in the skin with certain skin bacteria that produce a bad odour. Generally good hygiene and the use of antiperspirant deodorants are recommended to help manage body odour.
