Cartilage Development

Cartilage is formed from special cartilage cells supported by a gel‐like substance containing carbohydrates and proteins (such as chondroitin and glucosamine), collagen fibres for strength, and elastic fibres to help keep its shape. Cartilage doesn't contain any blood vessels, so if it is injured, it heals very slowly.
